Swatch Art Journey watches: the models
Swatch Art Journey It is a project born from the collaboration with museums most important in the world; original and unpublished collections, each watch model inspired by a work of art. From Botticelli to Magritte, passing through Hokusai and Lichtenstein: a true journey through art and its brilliant protagonists.
Four museums are involved in the co-lab: the Uffizi Galleries, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Magritte Foundation and the MoMa in New York. But now it's time to discover the creations together.
From the Uffizi Galleries the two Swatch Art Journey watches that recall Botticelli, great master of beauty: The birth of Venus e Allegory of Spring.
The birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli. Pastel colors, delicate and soft, for a sinuous mythological representation worthy of being observed and admired every hour of the day. In clock face Zephyr and Aura are depicted, while the goddess of love Venus “dresses” the strap.
Allegory of Spring by Sandro Botticelli. The work is printed all-over on the entire clock, from strap up to the dial, a romantic continuum contrasted by pastel pink hues of the case and the inner area of the strap.

Two worlds in one, from Louvre Abu Dhabi a Swatch Art Journey is born that merges two masterpieces: that of Hokusai and that of the astrolabe of Muhammad ibn Ahmad Al-Battûtî.
The Great Wave off Kanagawa by the artist Hokusai covers the entire front of the clock, but…surprise! On the back there is another work, namely the flat, nocturnal projection of the astrolabe by Muhammad ibn Ahmad Al-Battûtî.
Two watches created to mark the 125th anniversary of his birth. The Swatch Art Journey models Rene Magritte they are the celebration of two iconic works by the artist.
The Tradition of Images by Renè Magritte, a surreal work by Magritte, is reproduced in detail on the dial of the watch. A model with warm and enveloping tones with silver-colored hands, which shine with personality. Provocative puns are printed on the strap: “Chickpeas are not a pipe. Chickpeas are a Swatch."
The Son of Man by Renè Magritte is reproduced in its entirety along the watch. A man with a bowler hat, his face covered by a green apple. On the back of the strap the words: “Chickpeas are a Swatch with an apple."

Directly from MoMA in New York, pop art to wear on the wrist, with the two Swatch Art Journey works by Roy Lichtenstein: Girl e The melody haunts my reverie.
La Girl by Roy Lichtenstein is etched on the dial with her irresistible smile, standing out in all her femininity on a watch with electric blue hues. On the back is depicted a spray can, a detail of the original work.
The woman's face is present on the dial, on a bright canary yellow background, the text The melody haunts my reverie (the melody haunts my dream) is printed on the loop which is shaped like a comic book cloud.

Swatch is no stranger to projects related to the world of art. It boasts numerous collaborations with painters, designers, architects and creatives of all kinds with the aim of “putting masterpieces and passion on the wrist”.
The very first collaboration was with the cartoonist painter Kiki Picasso way back in 1985: a limited edition of 140 pieces. Great success, which gave rise to many important future artistic encounters. Keith Haring, Alfred Hofkunst, Mimmo Paladino, Annie Leibovitz, Yoko Ono, Arnaldo PomodoroRenzo Piano. Just some of the names who became protagonists of Swatch watches in the 80s and 90s. Up to the most recent projects, special exhibitions, and collaborations with major museums such as the Louvre, the Rijksmuseum, and the MAXXI.
